GASTRODUODENAL PERFORATION, A FREQUENT SURGICAL EMERGENCY. REVIEW AND DESCRIPTIVE STUDY

Abstract INTRODUCTION Perforated gastroduodenal ulcer represents a common surgical emergency and is associated with morbimortality close to 40-50%. HP infection, tobacco alcohol some socioeconomic aspects represent the most commonly described risk factors. MATERIAL AND METHODS A descriptive retrospective study was performed between 2018-2020. total of 40 patients history perforation were selected. Data corresponding to: sex, age, location, treatment, consumption, infection (presence or not eradicating treatment) other potential factors collected analysed. The aim assess how new lifestyle changes, evolution improvement in management PH general decrease smoking have modified classic profile perforations. RESULTS Gastroduodenal perforations predominated fifth/sixth decade life (mean age 59 years).
